St Giles Animal Rescue Charity trustees share ultimate responsibility for governing and directing how our charity is managed and run. Our Trustees use their skills and experience to support St Giles Animal Rescue, helping us achieve our aims.
St Giles Animal Rescue Charity are a member of the Government Charity Commission. The Charity Commission register and regulate charities in England and Wales, to ensure that the public can support charities with confidence. A list of the charity trustees can also be found here.
My career in the motor finance industry equipped me with skills and experience which I hope will prove useful in furthering the aims and ambitions of St Giles Animal Rescue. I have experience in organising large charity events and my focus is in making sure the charity generates the funds it needs to continue its amazing and much needed work.
As a family we have always had animals in our lives. Horses, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats, and a lot more besides. We now have just the two , our Bengal cat Rosie and our dog, a large Munsterlander Kitty.
I have now adopted three lurchers from St Giles and if I could afford a larger garden or perhaps a paddock, the sky’s the limit!
Having spent many years working in Group Risk Insurance I changed tack in 2020 and joined the RSPCA. I mainly work with RSPCA branches in the South West of England, two of which work with St Giles Animal Centre to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals – and I was offered a tour! By happy timing, I was looking for a trustee position that I would be able to share my knowledge of charity governance with just as St Giles Animal Rescue advertised for new trustees. And here I am!
I am a servant to two fluff ball cats, Maia and Orion, and I also look after four degus that were rescued from a hoarding situation (300+!) in autumn 2020.
Having recently qualified as a Chartered Accountant, I was looking for a new opportunity which aligned my professional experience with something I feel passionate about, that something being animals. Being relatively new to the board, I’m excited to be playing a part in the charity’s continued growth in providing much needed love, care and shelter for displaced animals.
Part of the job description is to be an animal lover, but I’ve personally grown up with cats and an adopted hamster, Norman. Bumble and Bee currently rule the roost. Since they are house cats, they think they are top of the pile and often trap me on the sofa for hours at a time snuggled on a cosy blanket, but they have learned to share my love when I sneak off for more cat cuddles at St Giles Animal Rescue Centre.
To provide rescue support for abused, abandoned, displaced pets; to ultimately introduce them to a loving family and find their forever home.
To create a safe place for ALL rescued animals to find succor, healing and hope. To help educate and transform human/pet relationships through continual learning.
To provide the same level of love and care for all our stakeholders as we do our rescues. To be recognised not just for the good work we do but for the good we inspire.
Volunteering is an enjoyable way of helping a rescue animal and can be very rewarding to both you and the animal. We have a range of volunteering roles from dog walking and cat cuddling through to helping raise much needed funds or home visiting. You will meet like minded people and enjoy developing or learning new skills.
